Dryer lint brush

What is lint?

Before trying to get rid of lint, we first need to know what is lint and how lint appears.

If you want to see lint just take a look on your clothes. If you look at some black clothes you will spot lint more easy than on white clothes.

As we all know (we should know) fabric is made from twisted fibers. If you use a dryer the fibers in the fabric will untwist and because of the air flow some fibers will get loose, and get trapped in the lint trap (a mesh screen). All the loose fibers want to stick together and this is Lint.

Cleaning the lint from your dryer

First of all you need to get a dryer lint brush.

The first think you should check is the exhaust line because lint may have built up in here.  After you check this you should check for the exhaust point from your house, because it might be covered by something. In some case birds might even build nest inside. Another thing you should do is remove the back of the dryer to inspect.

In some cases after you remove the lint from you lint trap, some lint falls inside your dryer.  In this case you need a flexible dryer lint brush.

A good dryer lint brush looks like this:

After you cleaned your dryer you need to get your dryer lint brush cleaned. The best way to do this is to use a length of masking tape and then apply the sticky side to your dryer  lint brush and it will cleanly remove the lint. Simple as that!
